Bhakti Voice Yoga is a unique method of movement, breath and voice that opens the body and mind, the inner space of the body to allow the breath and the voice to flow freely and effortlessly.

It has developed over many years of teaching breathing and singing and at the same time being a passionate Yoga and Qi Gong practitioner into a system that is simple, effective and beneficial on many levels.

The first section- movement- is designed to energise, revitalise,refresh and open the body within a short space of time, using balancing poses and breathing.

Having opened the body, elongated the spine, connected to the ground and lifted from the waist upwards, we are ready to undo restrictive breathing patterns and return to a natural, effortless breathing.

Breath = Life. Our energy levels depend in a big part on our breathing. There are so many benefits to deep breathing, we will name just a few.

Benefits include:

  • slows heart rate down
  • strengthens the immune system
  • calms the sympathetic nervous system
  • lifts moods
  • raises levels of endorphins
  • lowers stress hormones
  • improves digestion

Breathing helps to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is when the body gets a chance to recuperate, regenerate and heal. Even 5 minutes of conscious, deep breathing can make a huge difference.


Having built our foundation with the movement and breath section, having prepared the body by grounding and lifting, opening the ribcage and deepening the breathing we experience a more “full-bodied” way of singing, chanting or toning and we become an open channel where sound flows freely.
