Ariane was born and raised in Hanover, German where she studied singing and piano for 4 years at the Hanover Conservatoire before moving to London, United Kingdom with a scholarship from the German government to study at Postgraduate level at the Royal Academy of Music. After obtaining her recital diploma, she performed regularly throughout Britain as a soloist in oratorio and in song recital, including regular performances at the Purcell Room. She received three separate grants to deepen and develop her studies in Song Repertoire at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada. Subsequent performances took her to France, Italy and Spain, where she sang the Alto solo part in Vivaldi’s “Gloria” and Handel’s “Israel in Egypt” at the Palau de la Musica Catalana Barcelona.
After joining the Early Music group Mediva Ariane performed at the York Early Music Festival and the Purcell Room developing a passion for Medieval music. She now performs songs by Hildegard of Bingen, Troubadour songs and Spanish medieval music.
Teaching and Coaching
Since her student Ariane has always loved teaching singing and piano. She started teaching at the Hill House School in Knightsbridge before opening her own studio in Hampstead, London. Subsequent teaching jobs have taken her to the Sorbonne in Paris as well as conservatoires in Barcelona and Gerona in Spain where she taught singing, repertoire and languages. Ariane is multilingual in English, German, Spanish, Catalan, French and Italian and now lives in Hastings in the UK.
